This edition inherits most of the things included in the 1988's version. Now the instructions included are multi language and the box is quite smaller, thanks to the fact that the new table is folded in four. The table itself doesn't include text anymore to be language-free, even the symbols to build or buy are different, but in my opinion it's easier to get confused. The contracts follow the same idea of the table, but are more clear and cool. The leisure facilities are more modern but smaller, due to the smaller dimensions of the table. I've noticed that entrances and cars use a different kind of plastic than to the past and they seem more resistant than the older version.
This edition has been published in different years (1996 & 2002 by MB and Hasbro, 2004 by PARKER, another company bought by Hasbro). The only differences between these editions are small changes on the boxes (see here) and the building permission die.
The 2004 Parker edition curiously shows no lampposts of the Royal Hotel in the front box cover, maybe there was the intention to finally remove them (but in the box they're included).
