1987 - United States / Canada
I really don't know the reason why, but this version (and only this one) is called "Hotels" and with a different "starry" logo. Maybe MB had copyright issues?? Anyway this version features again a totally different design, but reminds very much the European edition; all the hotels have the same name except L'Etoile, which now is called Le Grand, another mistery for me. The entrances are now red instead of yellow and the cars have a Limousine-like shape, even the banknotes are different. In this edition Royal hotel doesn't have the two "small-precious-hated" lampposts, which most of the european players have now broken or lost (if you watch on Ebay auctions, people generally specify if the box include them or not). The only bad side of this version is that the box doesn't include any plastic partition, so all of the items are messed up. The Canadian version (which is called "Milton Bradley's Hotels") includes all the texts both in English and French plus a paper insert with French instructions and Fujiyama and President walls are not shiny. The Japanese version is similar with texts written both in English and Japanese and is called "Hotels deluxe" (ホテル王). The hotel names are written on the walls too.
